Ever wonder what Mary and Joseph’s virtual relationship would have been like had Facebook (and electricity, for that matter) been around about 2,000 years ago? No? Well here it is, anyway.

In the short movie, “A Social Network Christmas,” the couple’s detailed dialogue surrounding Mary’s pregnancy takes viewers on a mini-Biblical journey via a Facebook newsfeed. Mary and Joseph’s “friends” Elizabeth and Zechariah also chime in with comments on the events leading to Jesus’ birth.

Since Mark Zuckerberg’s ancestors were only a glimmer in their parents’ eyes at the time, this video by Igniter Media is the only available reference to how Mary and Joseph might have interacted on the social networking site.

Bonus points if you can guess Joseph’s password during the opening scene.

This video is an artistic take on how the story of the nativity might have read had a social network existed at the time of Jesus’s birth. Follow this historical period as it unfolds as a digital narrative. This vignette is great for highlighting the truths and circumstances of our Savior’s birth in a fresh, unique way.
