Hockomock: Place Where the Spirits Dwell ~ Peter Tower

Pub Date Feb 28 2014

Can a place be inherently evil? Are the violent and paranormal events so frequently experienced throughout the history of the Bridgewater Triangle mere coincidence or evidence of an unseen, epic battle waged between the forces of good and evil? This is the true story of the area of southeastern Massachusetts that has become infamous worldwide for paranormal activity.

Peter Tower traces the history of this mysterious and terrifying area, from its beginnings after the last ice age through the many bizarre and infamous paranormal events experienced there in the 1970s and 1980s. The author’s engaging storytelling technique combines in-depth research of the area’s geologic and cultural history with narrative vignettes and firsthand interviews from people that have encountered UFOs, Bigfoot, and mystery creatures, and experienced other unexplained events there. Tower brings the area to life in such a vivid fashion that the book proves to be nearly as mysterious and frightening for readers as experiencing the Bridgewater Triangle first-hand.

Peter Tower grew up in the Bridgewater Triangle, on the edge of the Hockomock swamp. As a boy, he played “Indian,” built forts, caught water bugs and turtles, and traveled through the swamp on top of old stone walls. Today, he and his family live in Vermont, where Peter works as a freelance writer and technology consultant to area corporations. In his free time, Peter enjoys studying Native American history, amateur archaeology, hiking in the mountains, and fishing the local lakes and rivers.

Dreams of Awakening: Lucid Dreaming and Mindfulness of Dream and Sleep ~ Charlie Morley

Dreams of Awakening is a thorough and exciting exploration of lucid dreaming theory and practice within both Western and Tibetan Buddhist contexts. It not only explores lucid dreaming practices, but also the innovative new techniques of Mindfulness of Dream and Sleep, the holistic approach to lucidity training which the author co-created.

The book is based on over 12 years of personal practice and the hundreds of lucid dreaming workshops which Charlie has taught around the world, in venues as diverse as Buddhist temples and dance-music festivals. Using a three-part structure of Ground, Path and Germination the reader is given a solid grounding in:

. the history and benefits of lucid dreaming

. cutting edge research from dream and sleep scientists.

. entering the path of learning to do the practices

. prophetic dreams, lucid living, out of body experiences and quantum dreaming.

Although Dreams of Awakening presents many different angles on how to make the 30 years we spend asleep more worthwhile, the fundamental aim of the book is to teach people how to lucid dream their way to psychological and spiritual growth. This book is for all those who want to wake up, both in their dreams and waking lives.

Charlie Morley received the traditional “authorization to teach” from his teacher Lama Yeshe Rinpoche in 2008. Charlie was originally asked to teach by renowned meditation teacher Prof. Rob Nairn who described him as “the most authentic practitioner of lucid dreaming and dream yoga teaching in Europe”.

After 10 years in the hip hop dance scene Charlie has spent the last 5 years running lucid dreaming retreats and workshops around the world, written his first book “Dreams of Awakening” and released his first audio CD product “Lucid dreaming, Conscious Sleeping” for Hay House and given the ever first talk on lucid dreaming at the well-known “TED” conferences.
