The Shaman’s Last Apprentice by Rebekah Shaman

This self-published book is the true story about how I became the Shaman’s Last Apprentice.

Shaman’s Last Apprentice is the true story of my apprenticeship with a powerful, traditional and old Peruvian Ayahuasquero shaman. A vision summoned me from the mountains of Machu Picchu, where I was working in a hotel as a Cultural and Activities Manager, to a little village tucked away on a tributary of the Amazon River, deep in the heart of the Amazon Jungle. There I learnt the ancient wisdom of the powerful medicine plant Ayahuasca, discovered the truth about myself, and have brought back with me messages of hope from this sacred place, for these times of instability and change.

My story is also a reminder from the Shaman to the West that we urgently need to change our relationship with each other, and with mother earth. Each one of us has a specific purpose and destiny and is an essential part of this web of life, in order to maintain the natural harmony of the planet. When we act contrary to this, we feel it deep within ourselves because we are interwoven and interconnected to everything. Only when we understand how vital each one of us is to the future unfolding of this planetary story, can we find the courage to let go of the fear, evolve consciously, and step into our own power so we can be the change.

‘The Shaman’s Last Apprentice’ is a narrative documentary focusing on the story of Rebekah Shaman, who in 1997 followed a vision she received from a Shaman calling her to the Amazon, where she found and studied intensively with a powerful Ayahuasquero Shaman in a little village nestled in a remote corner of the Amazon rainforest. Now she tells of her unique story working with the Shaman and Ayahuasca to connect with Mother Earth.

What follows is a warning from the Shaman to the West that we urgently need to change our relationship with each other, and with mother Earth.
Only when we understand how vital each one of us is to the future unfolding of this planetary story, can we find the courage to let go of the fear, evolve consciously, and step into our own power so we can be the change.
