Prajnaparamita – Buddha at the Gas Pump Interview

Published on Dec 20, 2015

Originally from the Netherlands, Prajnaparamita has been in search of her true nature all her life. Initially investigating and studying psychology, religion and philosophy, she eventually met a truly awakened soul and surrendered her heart, her mind and her life.

Over several decades Prajnaparamita received a rich vista of non-dual teachings: Advaita Vedanta, Mahayana Buddhism, Zen and Ch’an. Once realized, she has dedicated her life to the self-realization of all. Through satsangs, retreats and interviews she continually directs the listener to their very wisdom heart.

These days, Prajnaparamita spends most of her time at La Roseraie de Sacha: a centre of awakening and natural living deep in the countryside of central France. With meditation and satsang daily, opportunity is given for contemplation and self-enquiry interwoven with the participation in projects around the property – from gardening to cooking. People remember the transformative force of play, and remember what it is to live without purpose.

All are welcome at La Roseraie, at any stage of their awakening journey, of any religion and no religion whatsoever.

When not at La Roseraie, Prajnaparamita is giving satsang in the Netherlands or travelling worldwide.

ShantiMayi – ‘In Our Hearts We Know’ – Interview by Iain McNay

ShantiMayi is a rare being in that she embodies that living ‘Principle’ that resides within us all. She is the only westerner, as well as the only woman ever to carry the grace of her lineage of exceptional Indian sages around the entire world. This lineage is said to date back to the beginning of this universal cycle and exists solely for the purpose of the enlightenment of all beings. Her talks are forums of inspiration where she and the assembly have an opportunity to address the concerns questions and discoveries that people bring to this precious time.

Central to every meeting is a spiritually stimulating exchange among sincere people. ShantiMayi eclectically draws upon the quintessence of many traditions: Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism, and the Aboriginal Tribes of the Americas and Australia. Though this is so, she speaks from her own direct spirituality and points us back to ourselves. She says she is not religious and is not against religion as such. Whatever awakens us to ‘Truth’ is in fact ‘the way’. It is our own spiritual discovery, from within us and in our lives that brings us to the light of our heart-wisdom. ShantiMayi inspires to enliven the wonderful potential within us all. In this interview she talks about her life and her work.

Everyday Enlightenment: Seven Stories of Awakening by Sally Bongers (Author), Jeff Foster (Foreword)

Sally Bongers, the distinguished Australian cinematographer, compiled these interviews whilst researching subjects for a documentary film on Enlightenment. Initially she sought out established spiritual teachers, but her emphasis changed to interviewing ordinary people who had experienced a shift of perception which, in the Eastern tradition, would be called Enlightenment or Liberation.

She found men and women who still live their lives much as they had done before the realisation, working and living in the everyday world. Seven of their stories were chosen for this book. Hearing these people talk about living with this understanding in the real world (not in an ice-cave somewhere!) confirmed the closeness of it all. These stories make it clear that Enlightenment can ‘happen’ to anyone, regardless of so-called spiritual qualifications.

The Myth of Self-Enquiry by Jan Kersschot (Author)

“Probably you believe you are a person reading these very words right now. Maybe you also see yourself as a spiritual seeker. You’ve been to sacred places, followed yoga or meditation, maybe you’ve been involved in a group of seekers with similar interests. Probably you’ve invested a lot in this search for the ultimate truth. Maybe you feel you have been close to finding your true nature, and still … something is lacking.

What if this search leads you nowhere because the seeker who wants to achieve “it” is itself a concept? Have you ever investigated the existence of the investigator you believe you are? The seeker you believe yourself to be will not like this book. Seekers do not want to learn that that their search for enlightenment is just a game of their ego. They don’t like to see that their spiritual enquiry is endless and that their goal of finding their “true nature” is a myth.”

Jan Kersschot graduated in medicine from Antwerp University, Belgium. His lifelong quest for the ultimate truth was characterised by his interest in a wisdom which does not exclude anything or anyone. Blending the core of Eastern wisdom with a contemporary Western lifestyle, Jan shows in this collection of extraordinary dialogues how the popular myths about self inquiry and enlightenment can be unmasked. He is the author of the books, Coming Home, Nobody Home and This Is It.
