Easwaran speaks of the need to attend to our spiritual lives now and here.

He uses two vivid metaphors to bring home the urgency of the spiritual life. The first is a cautionary illustration of what can happen to all of us when we don’t learn to control our self-will and grow spiritually. The second is a story from his student days to illustrate how important it is to attend to our spiritual life right now, and not postpone our “tremendous trifles” for some later time.
