Chakras : Energy Centers of Transformation By Harish Johari

• Revised and expanded edition of the classic work on chakras by the renowned Indian scholar and tantra practitioner.

• Over 35,000 copies of the original edition sold.

• Includes full-color illustrations of the chakras to be used with the meditation exercises in the book and provides the tools necessary to activate these centers of transformative energy.

In the ancient science of tantra, the human body is viewed as the most perfect instrument for the expression of consciousness, a perfection realized through the development of psychic centers known as chakras. Located within the cerebrospinal system, the chakras are the stage upon which the interaction between higher consciousness and desire is played out. Consequently, it is through understanding and utilizing the energies of the chakras that we ultimately reach an enlightened state of being.

In Chakras, Indian scholar and tantra practitioner Harish Johari introduces the classical principles of the chakras as well as their practical application for today. In this expanded edition, complete with new art and text, he unfolds the mysteries of these subtle centers of transformation with visualization techniques essential to a fully realized tantric practice. Unlike other books in its field, Chakras provides the tools to activate these centers of transformative energy and elevate one’s intellectual knowledge to an experience of spiritual growth.

Meditating on the beautiful, full-color illustrations of each chakra vitalizes the cerebrospinal centers and harmonizes the entire system both physically and psychically. Explanations of each chakra elaborate on the chakra’s connection to elements, colors, sounds, sense and work organs, desires, planets and deities, as well as on behavioral characteristics and particular effects of meditation. For scholars and spiritual aspirants of every level, Chakras is an invaluable, practical source of information and techniques.

Kundalini and the Fire of the Holy Spirit ~ Humanity Healing Network

The Great Secret of the Initiates

KundaliniSpiritus Sanctus vivificans vita,
movens omnia.
Et radix est in omni creatura,
ac omnia de immunditia abluit, tergens crimina, ac ungit vulnera.
Et sic est fulgens ac laudabilis vita,
suscitans et resuscitans omnia.

Holy Spirit, bestowing life unto life,
moving in All.
You are the root of all creatures,
washing away all impurity, scouring guilt, and anointing wounds.
Thus you are luminous and praiseworthy,
life, awakening, and re-awakening all that is.

~Hildegard Von Bingen
(medieval abbess, mystic and upbraider of popes, quoting the Holy Spirit)

In the Gnostic writings, the Christ Jesus spoke directly about the need for an inner transformation or self-realization. He also told us that the Holy Ghost, or Divine Mother, is the power by which this is accomplished.

Kundalini[1] has always been the biggest and best-kept secret of all times. Knowledge of it was a privilege conceded only to a few Initiates in the great occult and the esoteric mysteries. According to them, only through constant purification and self-perfection are the seven vital energy centers/vortexes, or chakras, which govern all aspects of mind, body and soul, are prepared for the awakening of Kundalini.

In actuality, the Kundalini energy is a colossal potential vortex located on the first Chakra, called Muladhara, which means “root support” and is situated at the base of the spine or more exactly, between the genitals and the anus.

At the time of mythological Lemuria and Atlantis continents, the human race was more advanced and had fully developed physical and extra-physical senses. Over time, the involution of these two people was extraordinary and the force called Kundalini was progressively compressed and resumed to a single point on the first Chakra.

The knowledge that illuminates not only sets you free, But also shows you clearly that you already are free. ~A Course in Miracles

Kundalini’s extraordinary energy can both raise a Human Being to the higher planes or imprison him in the lower worlds. As the Kundalini rises through the Chakras, the pineal gland awakens from its ancient slumber and the Seeker will recover their Sidhi, which are the extrasensory powers.

Some of these extra-sensorial powers are:

>telepathy which is the communication of thoughts;
>clairvoyance which is the vision of what happens at a distance;
>astral projection which is the outflowing of a conscious invisible body out of the
physical body;
>the gift of healing with the hands or fingertips;
>and other gifts such as levitation, invisibility etc.

“I have reached the inner vision and through Thy Spirit in me I have heard Thy wondrous secret, through Thy mystic insight Thou hast caused a spring of knowledge to well up within me, a fountain of power, pouring forth living waters, a flood of love and of all embracing wisdom, like the splendor of eternal light” ~ Book of Hymns of the Dead Sea Scrolls

The Kundalini also awakens the Jina State[2], which is the extraordinary and wonderful practice that allows the introjection of our physical body into other dimensions of the universe and unravels the mysteries of life and death.

“And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them tongues parting asunder, like as of fire; and it sat upon each one of them.” ~ Acts 2, 2-3

The Kundalini is symbolized by a serpent biting its own tail, showing that transcendental energy is compressed like a spring. The Egyptians, and in the same way as the Mayans and Hindus, knew the Secret Serpent of Fire, as did the Gnostics, which considered its mastery to be the Keys of Eternal Wisdom.

“She is the first power. She preceded everything, and came forth from the Father’s mind as forethought of all. Her light resembles the Father’s light; as the perfect power She is the image of the perfect and invisible Virgin Spirit. She is the first power, the glory, Barbello, the perfect glory among the worlds, the emerging glory, She glorified and praised the Virgin Spirit for she had come forth through the Spirit. She is the first thought, image of the Spirit. She became the universal womb, for She precedes everything, the common parent, the first humanity, the Holy Spirit”. ~The Secret Book of John

The Kundalini is the Sacred Fire of the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Grail of the early Christians and the energy of Chi, or Ki, of the mysticism of the East. In the New Testament, the story of the descent of the Holy Spirit, the coming of the “Paraclete[3]”, was described through the appearance of flames of fire on the apostle’s heads. The decent of Holy Spirit of God and its consequent encounter with the Divine Feminine energy of the Mother always comes bearing spiritual gifts. In the Biblical case, the Gift of Tongues and understanding were part of that Divine dispensation.

The release of Kundalini begins in the first Chakra and goes upwards from Chakra to Chakra, until the seventh. When this happens, the person becomes an enlightened and fully freed from ego or the psychological strains of selves. In theory, there are thirty-three steps to become a Solar Man with the Seven Bodies totally reintegrated and crystallized in power[4]; self-realized and co-creating realities within the Divine Mind.

[1] Kundalini -Shakti

[2] The Jina State can be defined, according to the Modern Gnosis, as our fourth dimension; the hyper-geometrical plane or the hyperspace.

[3] From the Greek parakletos: an appellation of the Holy Ghost. The early church identified the Paraclete as the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:5, 1:8,2:4,2:38) and Christians continue to use Paraclete as a title for the Spirit of God.

Evolving a Robust Root Chakra System, Part 1 ~ Humanity Healing

Understanding Muladhara
Chakra Stats

Common Name: Root Chakra
Name in Sanskrit: Muladhara, meaning “Base and Foundation”
Color: Red
Vortices: 04
Element: Earth
Sound: Lam
Musical Note: C
Correlation Physics: Adrenal Gland/Kidneys

The base chakra is located at the base of the spine and has four small vortexes red. This chakra is the first physical connection between human beings and the planet Earth, not at the holographic level as with the Earthstar Chakra. The more open and vitalized the base chakra, the higher our provision of physical energy.

This chakra is generally associated with economic resources, survival, the basic needs of our existence; the ability to handle money, our independence from others, sense of direction and guidance in life; among other factors. It also regulates our ability to fight for the realization of our ideals.

Factors Regulated by the Root Chakra:

Self Esteem
Evolution of Identity
Tribal thinking

The base chakra is also called the fundamental chakra, root, or basal kundalini chakra, because it is located at the base of the spine or backbone, near the sacrum-plexus.

During its spiraling movement, it presents itself through astral vision as only four lines, forming a suggestive picture of a cross an ethereal orange red color with red flares in its center.

It is the most primitive and simple of all chakras and in its “physical” manifestation, is one of the major outliner of shapes and stimuli of our organic life. It is the driver of the famous “Serpentine Fire,” an etheric center responsible for the flow of powerful energies emanating from the Sun and Earth intimacy: energy “mother of the world” because it is the main foundation of life in matter.

This chakra is also related to the first layer of our Auric field, our intermediate state of matter between the world and our perception as a personality-soul.

When this center is out of balance, we tend to fear more intangible things. Some of these dysfunctions can create a lack of emotional control, causing decontrol of sexual energies, and creating dis-eases in organs related to this center. It can also present a general agitated behavior and feeling of general discomfort in being with our physical body.

When there are physical pathologies related to this unbalance, they are all feared based: either of rejection, failing, to face the unknown, to assume a posture sexual guilt, and fears that were rooted in the personality-soul during traumas in past lives. Many of these problems can manifest as disturbances at the kidneys and adrenal levels.

Sojourns of the Soul: One Woman’s Journey around the World and into Her Truth ~ Dana Micucci

Sojourns of the Soul is the quintessential armchair travel book for the spiritual seeker. Dana Micucci’s touching memoir chronicles seven sacred journeys that span 14 years of Micucci’s life, during which she explores the connection of inner growth to world travel that eventually leads to her own enlightenment. Unlike other inspirational travel books, Sojourns of the Soul provides a rare mix of in-depth wisdom and literary insights from the holistic view of an experienced female traveler.

Dana Micucci
gives a compelling account of her growing spiritual illumination through visits to some of the most sacred places on earth. Her lively, engaging narrative takes us through the Australian outback, Angkor in Cambodia, the Valley of the Kings in Egypt, Lhasa in Tibet, Chichen Itza in the Yucatan, the Monastery of Christ in the Desert in New Mexico and Machu Picchu in Peru. As her travels progress, Micucci links each visit to the awakening of a particular chakra – the chakras being the seven energy centers of the body in Hinduism, associated with progressive enlightenment.

In the afterword, Micucci reflects on how her experiences continue to shape her life after resuming her career as a journalist in New York City. She finds she is more tolerant, can engage in daily activities with more heart-centered awareness, and can sustain states of joy and gratitude for longer periods of time.

Readers who yearn for long-delayed adventure won’t be able to put this book down. With the added benefit that it is not just a journey log but more of a seeker’s manual in which travel is simply the vehicle, they will find it’s unnecessary to travel to far-flung places for the spiritual inspiration available in their everyday lives. As Micucci says, “Each day brings new remembrances of our divinity, of the Divine presence in all beings, and of our eternal connection to each other. I am so grateful to be here NOW . . . with you.”

Dana talks about her new spiritual travel memoir, SOJOURNS OF THE SOUL: ONE WOMAN’S JOURNEY AROUND THE WORLD AND INTO HER TRUTH.

Alan Steinfeld interviews Dana Micucci on her book: Sojourns of the Soul

This is an inner and outer journey of one woman as she explores the world and herself. Sojourns of the Soul takes the reader on a journey through the world’s most sacred and exotic lands, including the Australian Outback, Cambodia, Egypt, Tibet, the Yucatan, New Mexico and Peru. As she explores each “souljourn,” Micucci finds herself in seven successive stages that correlate with each of the seven spiritual energy centers of the body, called chakras. These stages take the reader from an awakening all the way to activation.

This spiritual memoir gives readers an inside look into each destination through Micucci’s eyes, observing not only the spirituality and lessons to be learned at each location, but also the intimate details of the landscape. While observing the Aborigines in the Outback with Micucci, readers will not only learn about their own connections to the oldest known human culture, but will also get detailed descriptions of the eucalyptus forests and galleries of millennia-old Aboriginal paintings.

Your Soul’s Compass What Is Spiritual Guidance? by Joan Z. Borysenko, Ph.D., Gordon Dveirin, Ed.D.

Why am I here?
What does a life worth living look like?
What is the higher intelligence trying to express through me?

In this time of global change and uncertainty, of spiritual indirection, Americans are asking these age-old questions with renewed curiosity. There’s a thirst for meaning and purpose—a dawning realization that happiness isn’t a commodity that can be bought with a gold card. Fulfillment and joy arise naturally from creative and compassionate action– from the understanding that all life is interconnected and guided by a higher intelligence. Our personal choices make a difference, and when they are spiritually inspired even the smallest action serves a larger whole.

Sacred texts ranging from the Torah to the New Testament, the Tao Te Ching to the Buddhist scriptures, the Vedantas to the Koran, speak of making life-enhancing choices where a force greater than the individual flows through us and informs our thoughts and actions.

In this book we’ll focus on the three classic aspects of living such a spiritually guided life:

(1) alignment: maintaining a direct and personal connection to the Source of our Being;

(2) discernment: distinguishing the movement of Spirit in our lives from our own wants, fears and social conditioning; and

(3) action: making our best, most inspired contribution to the evolution of life.

Joan Borysenko Talks About Being Open to Spiritual Guidance

By Arielle Ford

Joan Borysenko, Ph.D., is a pioneer in integrative medicine and a world-renowned expert in the mind-body connection. She is the author of the New York Times best-seller Minding the Body, Mending the Mind, and the author or co-author of 13 other books. Her most recent is Your Soul’s Compass: What Is Spiritual Guidance? We caught up with her to discuss her views on spirituality.

Gaiam: How do you define spirituality?

Joan Borysenko: To me, spirituality is essentially all about love, kindness, and recognizing that in the end we’re not the doer. In other words, we’re not in control of everything, and there’s a larger field of intelligence that has a flow. That flow moves toward the potential good for everyone. Spirituality means being able to listen for and cooperate with that flow so that we are co-creators. That requires deep listening, the willingness to let go of the blocks to guidance, our pride, our fear, our envy, all of those kinds of things.

In your book Your Soul’s Compass, you interviewed 27 sages, people from various religious and spiritual backgrounds. Why? What is this book about?

This is a book about waking up. It’s about self-realization, and recognizing that in cooperating with the larger intelligence, we potentially bring forth not only the best within ourselves, our own joy and happiness, but also the ability to cooperate in bringing forth a better future for our family, for our community, and hopefully for the world in these very chaotic and troubled times. We asked the sages—a collection of rabbis, priests, Buddhists, Hindus, shamans and Sufis—a variety of questions, everything from what are the practices that might enable us to listen to and act upon guidance, to what are the blocks to listening to and carrying out that guidance. And the really big question that so many people have, how on earth do you tell the difference between your own ego, your own desires, your own agendas, your own past conditioning? It’s a question of discernment. And that’s important because discernment may be the key spiritual practice.

What I would hope we would birth is a world of compassion, where people could find the means to stop their own personal suffering.

In working together, we could end some of the suffering in the world.

What an amazing experience for a little girl to have. I know that trusting the unknown is a theme of your book, and obviously, it’s a great fear for many people. Why should we court the unknown?

Because we’re always walking into it. The truth is, we don’t know from one minute to next what is going to happen. The sages of all traditions say that we simply have to learn how to be present in the moment, this moment, because this moment is the only moment we know. And in understanding that, we can walk into the unknown. Because here’s the paradox: The ego always wants to control. It wants to know. It has plans. It has agendas. And, of course, we need some of that.

But at a deeper level, our agendas become like boxes that we put ourselves into, and all we see are the bars of our own self-imposed box. Letting go and going into the unknown and saying, “It’s a mystery, I trust whatever is going to happen next is happening to me in some service of waking up.” And that opens us up to what the world of infinite possibilities can be. So, living in the unknown is life outside the box. While we may not like it, in fact it’s the only choice we have.

One of the questions you asked the sages was, What are we evolving to? What do you think we’re evolving to?

I would say we are evolving into a place where we can express our spiritual DNA. That spiritual DNA is the wisdom and compassion of creation itself, so that what we’re evolving to is to become conscious co-creators with the divine. What I would hope we would birth is a world of compassion, where people could find the means to stop their own personal suffering. In working together, we could end some of the suffering in the world.

What practices can you suggest to help people open themselves up to spiritual guidance?

First of all, trust. Without the trust that there is an educating function in the universe that guides us in our journey of awakening, then who’s going to listen to guidance? Second, we need time for stillness, whether it’s 20 minutes of retreat walking in nature each day, or 20 minutes of yoga or qigong or meditation, or going away for a weekend or a week. Times of stillness and letting go are very important.

Reiki and the Endocrine System ~ Humanity Healing

Reiki is synonymous with Universal Life Energy. Reiki is an integrative therapy that helps the individual find balance, harmony and alignment because it works primarily with the energy fields and the flow of vital energy.

One of the most practiced Reiki techniques is the placing the hands over the seven regions of the human body where the energy centers are located. Naturally, the Universal Life Energy is brought to these centers in order to revitalize and maintain the entire human body. These energy centers, or chakras, are intrinsically related to our endocrine system.

It is much easier to access any disease through these energy centers and through the “organs” that process their assimilated energies, the glands. Because Reiki utilizes the vital energy of life from the Universe, the healing can take place on multidimensional levels, in different subtle bodies and in diverse timelines.

Reiki healing can assist with the clearing of traumas, fears, frustrations, anger and bitterness of the past, as well as it can prepare someone for diverse events in the future. Energy travels and it is not restricted to spatial or chronological dimensions. A Reiki practitioner can send healing at a distance if they have the agreement of the patient.

The Endocrine Glands

Our endocrine glands are the physical projections of each of the seven chakras. They are sustained by specific energy patterns generated by the Universal Light energy. The chakras also reveal the fundamental emphasis of the individual, the focus of “I”. If a person identifies himself primarily with the feelings, the centers of the heart and solar plexus are most active and prominent than others. A very bright front indicates a degree of personal integration; a coronal light indicates the development of spiritual consciousness.

The thread of consciousness that awakens is connected to the core of the Crown Chakra. During sleep this flow of energy decreases, being revived at the moment of awakening. The thread of life, the Sutrama Cord, however, attaches the heart chakra to the physical heart, and that connection does not break while the individual is alive.

At the time of death, the thread of consciousness withdraws from the Crown Chakra and the thread of life is off the heart, signaling the disintegration of all the other chakras.

The main functions of the etheric chakras are: To absorb and distribute prana or vital energy to the etheric body, and through this, the physical body to maintain dynamic links with the corresponding chakras in emotional and mental bodies.

The physical body is affected not only by the speed of the stream of etheric energy, but also by the degrees of harmony and uniformity of the energy flow, and any obstruction that may distort the normal patterns of energy , inevitably will result in the loss of vitality and disease.

The endocrine system is composed by glands, and in other words are these glands are the ones that orchestrate all the activities of the physical body: its shape, its manifestations, their perceptions, and so on. Our glands are the Adrenals, the Pancreas, Thymus (heart chakra), the Gonads (sexual), Thyroid, Pituitary, Pineal. These organs when are blocked or energetically impaired, are responsible for physical problems and the appearance of diseases. Before they manifest in the physical plane, all illnesses manifest themselves first as obstructions on the subtle bodies.

Here are some of these problems and how they first appear as imbalances and their energetic drive.

Adrenals: anger, impatience, addiction, materialism, guilt, addiction, shame, violence, fear of death can cause: kidney pains, spine, bones, teeth, large intestine, anus, rectum, prostate, anemia, overweight, low blood pressure, fatigue, poor muscle tone, circulation problems, imbalance in body temperature, leukemia and nervous tension.

The Importance of Cleaning the Subtle Bodies

“The voice of our original self is often muffled, overwhelmed, even strangled, by the voices of other people’s expectations.”
~Julia Cameron

Keeping our subtle bodies clean is very important for the flow of our vital energy. The assembly of these bodies composes what we call our Energetic, or Auric, Field. Our Energetic Field feeds on vital energy. This vital energy is called Prana, or Qi or Chi, and feeds certain corridors of power that exist in and nourishes these subtle bodies.

The cleaning of the chakras, or centers of emanation and centrifugal energy, is of fundamental importance to metabolize these perfectly. With the Light that passes through them, with the flow through the magnetic axis, it literally feeds every cell in the body. The specific cleaning the Emotional Body is essential in order not to accumulate dark energy that can produce psychosomatic dis-easies.

Before we can heal ourselves, we must first be true to ourselves. The energy of emotional purification will help you forgive yourself for making choices that you did not fully understand at the time. From the moment you are free of regret or sorry for yourself, you can begin to heal, and then will automatically heal everyone around you with radiant unconditional love.

The blockages we often encounter around our Auric field can be called implants, or seeded attitudinal conducts, thoughts and behaviors.

Emotional implants can be of various natures, from implants that represent collective karmic patterns that have been externally imposed through social conditioning and expectations, to ones of personal nature of different life conditions and experiences that we are not emotionally mature enough to process and heal. Some implants, however, can be acquired through your genetic bloodline.

Some of these implants are the karma of our soul that we carry from one incarnation to another. Once incarnated on this 3D planet, the implants are activated and they will continue with the battles of duality, or the Game of Shadows and Light.

The implants can be assimilated in different ways, from many different timelines, locations and situations. There are many different types of implants as they have different purposes.

The last manner in which an implant can be integrated is through associations with different spiritual organizations of a negative nature. On the astral plane, these organizations create an Egregore. This includes any civil, social, or religious institution, and also cults that use mind control and fear to strengthen control over its members. They produce and perpetuate a “monolithic vibration”, as a standard energy signature, that overrules the manifestation of diversity proper of Human nature. Many of these vows of fidelity and service remain until consciously revoked. This is energy that needs to be transmuted.

The clearing of implants from our emotional body is a sensitive process that takes us all from the dualistic timeline of a 3D perspective to multidimensional perspective, to a point where we can safely transmute the emotion and release them away of our physical and emotional levels. How can we begin to “cleanse” the emotional charge that conditions us? A more direct approach would be to look inward with sincerity and recognize the energetic knots that are indirectly and directly preventing us from achieving our best, as programmed before this earthly experience.

After the procedure, your body will become able to sustain a higher energy levels since these embedded programs, which can be tiny energy-dense patterns stored in many energy centers of the body and which are passed on for generations without end, block and make difficult the expansion and upgrade of the level of experience we can gather through the manifestation of our Divine Purpose.

The Earth Star Chakra

As we all know, the movement from the chakras are rhythmic, constant and harmonious. They circulate the energy through the four bodies in order to promote the perfect integration between our physical body and our Higher Self. When imagining the rotation of the chakras, imagine them rotating in the clockwise movement. Emphasis should be placed on the proper direction because there is that some literature affirms the opposite. When the chakras are perfectly aligned, cleared and strong; one can observe an interesting phenomenon: the root chakra and the crown chakra will undergo a polar inversion, which gives the origin to an opening or a Light gateway to new dimensions of consciousness.

The chakras should be experienced as live consciousnesses. They are not three-dimensional in nature, but they can be perceived tri-dimensionally, as some people have the ability to visualize them with the gift of sight. Normally the chakras are divided in two groups and differ in nature according to their location and they function. They are either “physical”, or personal, chakras, which include the seven most often discussed, or they are transpersonal, or spiritual, chakras which reach the areas beyond the realms of Self.

Among the transpersonal chakras, which are the ones of a more refined spiritual characteristic, we find the ones that are located “below” the self: the sub-personal chakras.

The Earth Star

The Earth Star chakra is the first sub-personal chakra. It is a chakra, believed by some members of New Age and Neo-Pagan, to exist in line with one’s spine, six inches below the feet. Other traditions place the Earth Star chakra as being “two arms lengths” below the feet. Either way, it is located in a fixed position relative to the physical body and not necessarily specifically located beneath the ground.

It is believed that one of the primary functions of the Earth Star is to coordinate the “grounding cord” for one’s Lightbody that leads to the center of the earth; and when functioning properly in coordination with the first, or root, chakra (the Muladhara Chakra) allows one to be grounded and centered in daily living.

What we call Lightbody is the fusion of the four bodies that compound the human body: the etheric, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. Once this fusion is achieved, health, balance, harmony and stability of perfect physical, emotional and mental are finally established.

This same merge represents the unification of the objectives of the Soul and personality, the final identification between the Karma and Dharma when all becomes One. In accordance with the ancient system from Assyria, one would need to activate a fully integrated Lightbody to make the final journey through the enlightened path of the stars. One activated, the Lightbody would enable a soul to be free from all the mutational aspects of duality, igniting what we called the personal Merkabah.

One of the delicate steps of this process is the effective connection with the Lightbody of the planet, through the connection with its heart and the Christic Grid. The prospect to make this connection is only possible to the clearing, activation and integration of one’s energy system with the Earth Star Chakra.

The Thyroid – The Occult Center of Clairaudience

The Thyroid is responsible for the production of hormones that can regulate the functions of our entire metabolism. When this gland is not functioning adequately it can be accountable for many different types of unbalanced situations in various degrees of severity, and many times they can be ignored, where-as others can be so accentuated that they can be seen as life threatening. The thyroid secretes the hormone that controls the heart beat, blood pressure, mental activities and other diverse functions of the human metabolism in general.

The Yogis from India teach that the throat chakra’s root comes from the Thyroid gland. They say this chakra has a lotus with 16 petals, a marvelous gland that presents a glowing auric field that is ecstatic; they refer to it as an amplified ear that is able to register frequency waves or sounds that are not necessarily audible to our human ears. This amplified ear is called Clairaudience; therefore the Throat chakra is the center of this Clair. They also teach that it is through the throat chakra and the thyroid development that we reach the “conceptual synthesis” of consciousness. They insist that matter is nothing but condensation of the ether and the ether is the condensation of the Tattwa Akasha. For the Yogis, Akasha is the primordial sound or vibration of the universe, and its instrument in humans is the throat chakra.

The level of spiritual attainment through the development of this center is so great, that Tradition teaches that though the improvement of the thyroid center, humans can learn how to regulate and control the Akasha element which would enable the soul to continue to exist even during the long nights of Brahma, or the nights of the great Pralaya.

The thyroid is located in the anterior part of the neck, and it produces the hormones T3 and T4, which regulate our growth, digestion and metabolism.

The thyroid is a red gland which is formed by two lobes united by an isthmus forming a perfect triangle, much like the forming of a butterfly. The wings are lobes present on the side of the throat.

The two lobes of this gland are situated on both sides of the laryngeal prominence, commonly known as the Adam’s apple[1].

Rosicrucian doctors reassure that the thyroid gland is influenced by the planet Venus, and the Parathyroid[2] glands are in turn, influenced by the planet Mars. According to Dr Arnold Krumm-Heller, there is an unending energy battle between these two sets of glands.

[1] The laryngeal prominence—commonly known as the Adam’s apple—is a feature of the human neck. This lump, or protrusion, is formed by the angle of the thyroid cartilage surrounding the larynx. The term “Adam’s Apple” is derived from the forbidden fruit in the Biblical account of the lives of Adam and Eve (although the name of the fruit is not mentioned in Genesis) and refers to the prominence of the lump in males (hence, Adam) more than females.

[2] Parathyroid glands (we all have 4 of them) are normally the size of a grain of rice. Occasionally they can be as large as a pea and still be considered normal.
