Children of a Living Universe: Discovering Our Legacy Will Change Our Future by Paul Von Ward

Children of a Living Universe is a call to action unlike any other you may have encountered. According to cultural historian and cosmologist Paul Von Ward, the time has come for human beings to reassess just about everything we believe about our ancestry and global past. Drawing upon forgotten prehistory, clues from the world’s esoteric traditions, and new research in consciousness, Von Ward asserts we are more powerful beings than either science or religion has led us to believe. He exhorts us to embrace a bold, new model of human existence, one that explains our celestial origins, multidimensional capacities, and destiny as conscious co-creators of a self-learning and self-correcting universe.

With insight and clarity, Von Ward envisions that the discovery of our true legacy will inspire a global renaissance of inner knowing and unprecedented social progress. He sees humanity assuming its place as part of a universal community of conscious beings, and fulfilling our potential to serve as galactic leaders. Children of a Living Universe is a brilliant guide to this new and essential process in human spiritual evolution.

Previously published as Our Solarian Legacy.

Interdisciplinary cosmologist & psychologist, Paul is known internationally for his concept of “natural spirituality” based in an evolving, self-learning universe; research on the apparent intervention of advanced beings (ABs) in human development; and evidence of the survival of the individuated soul-genome. His books on these topics are Our Solarian Legacy; Gods, Genes & Consciousness; and The Soul Genome. Paul’s academic background (Florida State, Harvard and other institutions); military, diplomatic, executive, and clergical career; and research on five continents keep his provocative publications grounded in emerging science and credible human experience.

Krishnamurti’s Notebook by Jiddu Krishnamurti (Author)

When Krishnamurti’s Notebook first became available in 1976, it was soon realized that it was a spiritually unique document giving his perceptions and experiences and describing his states of consciousness. It is a kind of diary but one that is little concerned with the day to day process of living, though very much aware of the natural world.

Krishnamurti, Jiddu born of middle-class Brahmin parents, was recognized at age fourteen as the coming World Teacher. Krishnamurti claimed allegiance to no caste, nationality or religion and was bound by no tradition. He traveled the world and spoke spontaneously to large audiences until the end of his life at age ninety. He said man has to free himself of all fear, conditioning, authority and dogma through self-knowledge and this will bring about order and psychological mutation.

J. Krishnamurti (1895-1986)
was a renowned spiritual teacher whose lectures and writings have inspired thousands. His works include On Mind and Thought, On Nature and the Environment, On Relationship, On Living and Dying, On Love and Loneliness, On Fear, and On Freedom.

Eckhart discusses selections from the revered teacher’s classic journal and shares some of the profound “passages into stillness” that Krishnamurti opens for us. Eckhart teaches us about how we are looking for something greater to come into our lives, we are continuously missing all the little things of which our lives really consist. Eckhart explains how Krishnamurti presents us with an invitation to join him in a state of consciousness.

Krishnamurti – Why is there such Chaos in the World ?

Jiddu Krishnamurti (May 11, 1895 — February 17, 1986) was an Indian born speaker and writer on philosophical and spiritual subjects, and was widely considered as a World Teacher. His subject matter included: psychological revolution, the nature of mind, meditation, inquiry, human relationships, and bringing about radical change in society. He constantly stressed the need for a revolution in the psyche of every human being and emphasized that such revolution cannot be brought about by any external entity, be it religious, political, or social.

Krishnamurti was born into a Telugu Brahmin family in what was then colonial India. In early adolescence, he had a chance encounter with prominent occultist and high-ranking theosophist Charles Webster Leadbeater in the grounds of the Theosophical Society headquarters at Adyar in Madras (now Chennai). He was subsequently raised under the tutelage of Annie Besant and Leadbeater, leaders of the Society at the time, who believed him to be a “vehicle” for an expected World Teacher. As a young man, he disavowed this idea and dissolved the worldwide organization (the Order of the Star) established to support it. He claimed allegiance to no nationality, caste, religion, or philosophy, and spent the rest of his life traveling the world, speaking to large and small groups and individuals. He authored many books, among them The First and Last Freedom, The Only Revolution, and Krishnamurti’s Notebook. Many of his talks and discussions have been published. His last public talk was in Madras, India, in January 1986, a month before his death at his home in Ojai, California.

His supporters, working through non-profit foundations in India, Great Britain and the United States, oversee several independent schools based on his views on education. They continue to transcribe and distribute his thousands of talks, group and individual discussions, and writings by use of a variety of media formats and languages.

The Spiritual versus Intellectual Training ~ HumanityHealing Network

An Essay about the Nature of our Spiritual Understanding

The struggle for existence holds as much in the intellectual as in the physical world. A theory is a species of thinking, and its right to exist is coextensive with its power of resisting extinction by its rivals. ~Thomas Huxley

To retain a general mental capacity requires, among other things, the ability to be rational, to plan ahead, to solve problems, to think abstractly, to comprehend complex ideas, to learn fast and to learn through experience. Intellectual training is not a literary learning process, nor is it the ability to obtain good grades. It refers to a more ample concept: the ability to perceive and understand in depth the world around you.

When we refer to someone as “intellectualized” we are referring to an individual that holds a great amount of information about diverse issues, but also as someone with a certain familiarity with the art of thinking intelligently and rationalizing over these topics. We know, nevertheless, that the real characteristic of a clever mind is the ability to solve problems with ease and precision.

But is a good intellectual background enough to develop sagacity, perception and mindfulness? Our answer is no.

What make an individual express perceptiveness is mix of genetic background, spiritual will or predisposition, and education; not only training and education. Any school can train an individual to think logically and critically, but they cannot necessarily train anyone to be creative and resourceful. Intelligence is a dynamic phenomenon, while education is a static one. Everyone knows that it is possible to discuss for hours about subjects with no passing of relevant content among individuals. The intellect when devoid of the luminous influence of Spirit is just as a false light that preserves itself through the exercise of speech, not necessarily creating anything new.

Know Thyself
The intellectual argument, per se, is often slave of the code of beliefs of an individual and rarely is manifested through an outcome that involved spiritual insight or self-reflection, but instead it reveals itself as an expression of cultural tradition and preconceptions.

Man is not logical and his intellectual history is a record of mental reserves and compromises. He hangs on to what he can in his old beliefs even when he is compelled to surrender their logical basis.”

~John Dewey

The same way we distinguish the intellectually insightful from the cultured and creative individuals, it is important to differentiate the concept of intellectualized beings and evolved beings.

From the mystical perspective, evolution refers to a process of increasing the ratio of Universal consciousness on one Individual’s life. This process naturally unleash a sense of social and global responsibility, an increase of Altruism, the sense of duty, service to others, and compassion to all the sentient forms of life, not only the human ones. An advanced human being, touched by Divine Grace, does not need necessarily to be extremely intellectualized, even though most of the intellectuals we meet tend to show themselves as highly evolved. The premature judgment of their character based upon the number of books read, or titles that they collected through life, can cause disappointment to the gentle soul; the confusion between these two concepts can really muddle the waters of reality.

Culture and Sensibility

We are not saying that ignorance and misery contribute to the spiritual progress of humanity; no real school of wisdom will reinforce this idea. As one chooses to trail the spiritual path, one should be vigilant and mindful of an ever increasing intellectual development, but also should devote time to improve sensibility and sensitivity through art, music, literature, sculptures, etc.

Aside of this, it is very important to advance in the taming of our emotions and feelings, as they are an important part of the vehicle of our personalities, especially those that are repressed and/or neglected. This would constitute the necessary trails on path of self-realization and self-knowledge.

The Synchronicity Key: The Hidden Intelligence Guiding the Universe and You ~ David Wilcock (Updated Sept 20, 2013)

Pub Date August 20, 2013

New York Times bestselling author David Wilcock unlocks the key to a universal life force that is influencing and guiding humanity toward enlightenment.

With The Source Field Investigations, David Wilcock joined Graham Hancock and Lynne McTaggart as a leading writer exploring the intersection of ancient mysteries and new science. He used cutting-edge alternative science to delve into the mysteries behind the 2012 prophecies, and readers embraced his findings: The Source Field Investigations was a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestseller. In his new book, The Synchronicity Key, Wilcock embarks on an astonishing investigation into what lies beyond those prophecies —finding proof that everything in our lives is not only connected, it all influences everything else.

Using history, astrology, and synchronicity theory as well as concepts such as fractals, spiritual geometry, quantum physics, and other new research, Wilcock shows that there is a hidden architecture within time, guiding individuals and nations through a system of enlightenment Joseph Campbell called the Hero’s Journey. Historical events occur in shockingly precise, repeating cycles of time as a result. Once we understand and identify the hidden laws governing the fates of individuals and nations through seemingly random “synchronicity,” we are left with a remarkable blueprint of how best to lead our lives spiritually in the post-2012 world.

David Wilcock is an author, professional lecturer, filmmaker, and researcher of ancient civilizations, consciousness science, and new paradigms of matter and energy. His seminal thoughts and expertise on consciousness have reached hundreds of thousands of people through his extensive online presence at His first book, The Source Field Investigations, was a New York Times bestseller. He lives in California.

Intuitive researcher and filmmaker, David Wilcock, discussed how UFO intervention is thwarting efforts to start WWIII and how this interference is part of an organized movement toward a golden age of humanity. He dubbed these actions “divine intervention,” since it appears that when the UFOs make their presence known it seems to be for benevolent reasons. To that end, he specifically cited craft shutting down nuclear weapons as an example of their positive intent. Given the ephemeral and surreptitious work of these positive UFO events, Wilcock surmised that they are beholden to a “prime directive” to not overtly interfere in human events unless it is absolutely necessary, such as curtailing the proliferation of nuclear weapons.

According to Wilcock, these benign UFOs are working in opposition against a group he called “the cabal” which consists of the power brokers behind the New World Order agenda. The leaders of the cabal, Wilcock said, are “openly and routinely interacting with a variety of extraterrestrial species,” possess knowledge that humans are actually ET hybrids, and maintain stargates that allow them to leave the Earth at will. He contended that one of the key goals of the cabal, which has been planned for 300 years, is a “mass uncloaking of their true identity and their philosophy.” This philosophy, he said, is rooted in Luciferianism, but has been corrupted over time to espouse ideals like “the manipulation and control of people for the betterment of self” and using occult rituals for personal gain.

Eventually, he said, this conflict between the benevolent ETs and the cabal will reach a crescendo as the planet shifts into a “golden age” as prophesied by religions and myths around the world. However, he claimed that the prophesies were “cleverly worded” by the ETs to trick the sinister “powers that be” into believing that mass disasters will befall the planet during this transition, thus distracting them and keeping them fearful. Based on his research, Wilcock explained that the shift into a “golden age” is not simply an overnight change for the human race but one that “requires a spiritual evolution to occur.” This evolution, he said, will give the human race a greater understanding of its role in the universe as a whole. Wilcock expressed great optimism that the metamorphosis of the human race, coupled with the intervention of the ETs, will ultimately lead to the crumbling of the nefarious Luciferian cabal.

David Wilcock is a professional intuitive consultant who, since reading Richard C. Hoagland’s “The Monuments of Mars” in 1993, has intensively researched ufology, ancient civilizations, consciousness science, and new paradigms of matter and energy. He is the author of a critically acclaimed trilogy of scientific research works, known as the Convergence series, which gives definitive support to the idea that a change in matter, energy and consciousness is now occurring on the Earth and throughout the solar system.

Wilcock has appeared on broadcast television, lectured throughout the United States and Japan, published a variety of magazine articles and appeared on numerous radio talk shows. He is the co-author of the book “The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce,” now available in bookstores nationwide, and a summary of his latest scientific work appears therein, where a breakthrough case for mass, spontaneous DNA evolution on Earth is unveiled. David is also an accomplished musician and composer within a variety of styles, including jazz-fusion, meditative and world music.

David Wilcock: The Synchronicity Key | Pt. 1 of the Full Video!

Published on Aug 25, 2013

In Part 1 of his epic YouTube comeback video, NYT best-selling author and TV host David Wilcock asks profound questions: What if the Universe is alive — and is trying to communicate with you through synchronicity and the Law of Karma?

What if life on earth is not random, but is guided by mysterious forces that are written into the orbital paths of the stars and planets themselves?

What if the Illuminati / Bilderberg / New World Order cabal is allowed to exist by a loving Creator — to help us process karma on a massive level and reflect our own negativity so it can be healed?

What if it is mathematically inevitable that the “bad guys” will be defeated at this very moment in our history — thanks to a 25,920-year cycle that is now completing itself, and is vastly older than human life on earth?

What if all space, time, matter and energy is composed of a Source Field that is alive and intelligent?

What if there is a celestial “personality” that affects how we think and feel as we drift through different regions of space, in repeating cycles of time?

What if the Cabal, New World Order and / or Illuminati are being guided by these same cycles — and have never been allowed to do more than what the cycles permit them to?

What if they inherited a variety of powerful symbols and teachings that were originally positive, and have since been horribly contorted into something negative?

What if we are now seeing the fulfillment of a vast script that is guiding all life on earth through a series of spiritual lessons known as “archetypes?”

Part 1 of this groundbreaking video series reveals some of the many mysteries in David’s epic new book, The Synchronicity Key — available now for you to order and enjoy in hardcover, Ebook or audio form, dictated by David Wilcock.

If these great cycles of time are real — and David gives extensive proof that they are — then nothing can be more important than to study and understand them, and learn what they are here to teach us.

We just might discover that the events we are now seeing will usher in a Golden Age of peace and prosperity on earth — and quite possibly transform biological human life into a light-body form.

Ascension does seem to be the key. The great cycles keep repeating the class we need to master in order to gain these stunning new abilities.

Great teachers like Jesus and Buddha came here to reveal what we need to know — and David also deftly reveals how the Bible is packed with clues that Jesus and other great teachers were very well aware of these cycles.

TOWARDS ABIDING IN NONDUAL BEING : An interpretive and limited account of the transformation of consciousness ~ Marcia Rich, Ph.D.

Marcia Rich, Ph.D.

Marcia Rich began passionately pursuing a formal shamanic path in her forties. Prior to that, she provided integrative psychotherapy as a transpersonal psychologist, engaging the consciousness of mind, body, emotion and spirit. She was searching for a more direct approach, which she found in shamanism.

Marcia began passionately pursuing a formal shamanic path in 2007 with her attendance at FSS workshops with Gizelle Rhyon-Berry, in Victoria, BC, Canada. A pivotal shamanic experience early on this path helped her to embrace the sacredness of her own “smallness and invisibility,” a teaching that she has returned to again and again. This teaching has fuelled her passion for shamanism as a spiritual path, particularly through the core shamanic approach originated by Michael Harner and taught via the FSS. Marcia says: “I am honored to have my relationship with the Foundation now extend to teaching in Alberta, Canada.

What is most inspiring for Marcia is supporting others in deep healing as they become increasingly independent and autonomous in their shamanic practice. This passion comes from her personal experience of intensive healing and transformation through practicing shamanism as a spiritual path.

Marcia received her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and has completed research in integrating spiritual and transpersonal realms into psychotherapy. She is interested in the intersection of shamanic practice and transpersonal psychotherapy. Since beginning her training with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, she has maintained a shamanic practice, providing individual and group sessions for healing.

Recently, Marcia held the position of Assistant Professor at the University of Lethbridge in the Addictions Counseling Program, teaching courses in counselor training and mental health and addictions issues. She left academic life to devote more time to providing shamanic and psychotherapy services for others. She is currently on the Editorial Board of Reviewers of Pardoxica: Journal of Nondual Psychology.

The World Peace Diet: Eating For Spiritual Health And Social Harmony By Will Tuttle, Ph.D.

Food is our most intimate and telling connection both with the living natural order and with our living cultural heritage. By eating the plants and animals of our earth, we literally incorporate them. It is also through this act of eating that we partake of our culture’s values and paradigms at the most primal levels. It is becoming increasingly obvious, however, that the choices we make about our food are leading to environmental degradation, enormous human health problems, and unimaginable cruelty toward our fellow creatures.

Incorporating systems theory, teachings from mythology and religions, and the human sciences, The World Peace Diet presents the outlines of a more empowering understanding of our world, based on a comprehension of the far-reaching implications of our food choices and the worldview those choices reflect and mandate. The author offers a set of universal principles for all people of conscience, from any religious tradition, that they can follow to reconnect with what we are eating, what was required to get it on our plate, and what happens after it leaves our plates.

The World Peace Diet suggests how we as a species might move our consciousness forward so that we can be more free, more intelligent, more loving, and happier in the choices we make.

Will Tuttle has a master’s degree in humanities from San Francisco State University and a Ph.D. in the philosophy of education from the University of California. A professional pianist and teacher, he has for the last thirteen years toured progressive churches, vegetarian and macrobiotic conferences, and intentional communities throughout the country. He trained in Korea as a Zen Buddhist monk and has worked extensively in Tai Chi, yoga, massage, and dance and movement. He lives in Healdsburg, California.

Darwin’s Unfinished Business: The Self-Organizing Intelligence of Nature ~ Simon G. Powell

A groundbreaking interpretation of evolution as the work of Nature’s intelligence

• Refutes the orthodox view of evolution as a mindless process driven by chance

• Explains why context is more important than mutation in evolutionary innovation

• Shows how, by recognizing Nature’s innovative and creative powers, we can overcome our social and environmental challenges with a new green science of evolution

Darwin’s theory of evolution is undoubtedly one of the most important scientific ideas of the modern age, explaining the existence of both life and consciousness without recourse to divine intervention. Yet how do we interpret evolution? How do we evaluate the ability of Nature to engineer something as exquisite as the genetic code or the human brain? Could it be that evolution is an intelligent process? Is Nature smart? According to most scientists, the answer is no. While humanity may be intelligent and purposeful, the natural processes that crafted us are deemed to be devoid of such attributes.

In a radical move away from orthodoxy, Simon G. Powell extends Darwin’s vision by showing that evolution is not just about the survival of the fittest but rather the survival of clever and sensible behavior. Revealing the importance of the context in which things evolve, he explores the intelligent learning process behind natural selection. Rich with examples of the incredibly complex plants, animals, insects, and marine life designed by Nature–from the carnivorous Venus flytrap and the fungus-farming leaf cutter ant to the symbiotic microbes found inside the common cow–he shows Nature as a whole to be a system of self-organizing intelligence in which life and consciousness were always destined to emerge.

Examining the origins of life and the failure of artificial intelligence to compete with natural intelligence, he explains how our scientifically narrow-minded views on intelligence are now acting as a barrier to our own evolution. As Darwin’s unfinished business comes to light and Nature’s intelligence is embraced, we learn that Nature’s agenda is not simply the replication of genetic matter but of expanding consciousness. By working with Nature’s creative and innovative powers instead of against them, we can address today’s social and environmental challenges with a new green science of evolution.

After graduating from UCL in 1992, Simon G. Powell suffered an extended bout of ‘mushroom fever’ brought on by excessive psilocybin use. After this ‘mushroom fever’ subsided, he was left with a case of chronic biophilia compounded by chronic gaiaphilia. This curious condition, which turned out to be permanent and quite stimulating, led him to write a number of unorthodox books – including The Psilocybin Solution (2011) and Darwin’s Unfinished Business (2012). He also felt compelled to write and direct two radical film documentaries: Manna and Metanoia. Links to all these media and more can be found via the tabs on the main menu bar above.

June 2013 – Simon has just finished a new book chiefly about his remarkable psilocybin experiences over the last few decades. Stay tuned for more info.

Dawn of the Akashic Age New Consciousness, Quantum Resonance, and the Future of the World By (author) Ervin Laszlo By (author) Kingsley L. Dennis

About Dawn of the Akashic Age
A preview of the post-mechanistic, holistic world in 2020 and 2030 as well as a map of the obstacles we must overcome to get there

• Reveals how the youngest generation is seeding the shift in consciousness

• Explains how society will be reorganized into grassroots networks like those revealed by quantum physics and experienced through social media

• With contributions from futurist John L. Petersen, ex-CEO of Sanyo Tomoya Nonaka, media activist Duane Elgin, and other visionaries

The world is changing. The transition from the mechanistic worldview to one that recognizes the interconnectedness of all life is upon us. It is the dawning of the Akashic Age. The Akashic field that connects the universe is now recognized by cutting-edge science. What we know about communication, energy, and consciousness is rapidly evolving in tandem with the new quantum worldview. Many adults are consciously evolving to meet the transitional challenges at hand, while today’s youth have arrived already hard-wired with the new consciousness. Rising from the ashes of the old systems, this Phoenix generation of radical change agents is seeding our evolution and spiritual transformation, a process that will continue over the next few decades.

Authors Ervin Laszlo and Kingsley Dennis look at the chief engine of the coming changes–the growing global understanding of nonlocality–and the development of practical applications for it. They examine how the new values and new consciousness taking hold will reorganize society from top-down hierarchies into grassroots networks like those revealed through quantum physics’ understanding of energy and information waves and experienced daily by millions through social media.

With contributions from visionary thinkers such as futurist John L. Petersen, ex-CEO of Sanyo Tomoya Nonaka, media activist Duane Elgin, systems scientist Alexander Laszlo, and spiritual economist Charles Eisenstein, this book explores the future of education, spirituality, the media, economics, food, and planetary citizenship as well as the expansion of consciousness necessary to reach that future.

About the Author(s) of Dawn of the Akashic Age
Ervin Laszlo is chancellor of Giordano Bruno GlobalShift University and the founder and president of the Club of Budapest. The author of 89 books, he lives in Pisa, Italy.

LIFE AHEAD On Learning and the Search for Meaning ~ J. Krishnamurti

Life Ahead presents lessons that move far beyond the traditional forms of education taught in most schools and colleges. Drawn from transcripts of talks given to Indian students, the book covers a wide range of universal topics.

In short, accessible chapters, Krishnamurti explores the danger of competition, the value of solitude, the need to understand both the conscious and the unconscious mind, and the critical difference between concentration and attention, and between knowledge and learning. Krishnamurti exposes the roots of fear and eradicates deeply entrenched habits of tradition, limitation, and prejudice. The life he holds forth requires a complete change of thought, even a revolution, one that begins “not with theory and ideation,” he writes, “but with a radical transformation in the mind itself.” He explains how such transformation occurs only through an education that concentrates on the total development of the human being, an education carefully described in this simple yet powerful book.

The Secret Teachings of Plants : The Intelligence of the Heart in the Direct Perception of Nature By Stephen Harrod Buhner

Reveals the use of direct perception in understanding Nature, medicinal plants, and the healing of human disease

• Explores the techniques used by indigenous and Western peoples to learn directly from the plants themselves, including those of Henry David Thoreau, Goethe, and Masanobu Fukuoka, author of The One Straw Revolution

• Contains leading-edge information on the heart as an organ of perception

All ancient and indigenous peoples insisted their knowledge of plant medicines came from the plants themselves and not through trial-and-error experimentation. Less well known is that many Western peoples made this same assertion. There are, in fact, two modes of cognition available to all human beings–the brain-based linear and the heart-based holistic. The heart-centered mode of perception can be exceptionally accurate and detailed in its information gathering capacities if, as indigenous and ancient peoples asserted, the heart’s ability as an organ of perception is developed.

Author Stephen Harrod Buhner explores this second mode of perception in great detail through the work of numerous remarkable people, from Luther Burbank, who cultivated the majority of food plants we now take for granted, to the great German poet and scientist Goethe and his studies of the metamorphosis of plants. Buhner explores the commonalities among these individuals in their approach to learning from the plant world and outlines the specific steps involved. * * *

This book is a remarkable guide for the aware gardener to enter the place where the gardener’s relationship with Nature transcends gardening. Best-selling author, Michael J. Roads, has always been a step ahead in his approach to the garden, and this book is no exception. Michael has gone back to his roots . . . revisiting the organic garden. All his metaphysical journeying was born through Nature, so it is only natural that he would at some point return to gardening, except that this time he returns in a state of conscious awareness.

Michael writes with a style that weaves the physical and practical aspects of his garden wisdom into a tapestry which includes the nonphysical, unseen aspects of the garden. He shows us that by being far more aware and conscious in our moment by moment of working in the garden, we can make a connection with Nature that transcends our previous experience and knowledge.

Fans of his earlier organic gardening books will enjoy this work as it touches on all the trusted information he shared with us before. Yet old and new fans alike will be astonished by the new depths for both the garden and gardener that can be reached when gardening becomes a conscious practice.

SQ 21: The Twenty-One Skills of Spiritual Intelligence by Cindy Wigglesworth

According to author Cindy Wigglesworth, Spiritual Intelligence is “the ability to behave with wisdom and compassion while maintaining inner and outer peace regardless of the situation.” In her new book, SQ21: The Twenty-One Skills of Spiritual Intelligence, Cindy helps us understand how spiritual intelligence is analogous to such concepts as IQ and emotional intelligence (EQ). Using clear, practical language she defines the “21 skills” that comprise spiritual intelligence and in doing so, teaches you the steps to begin developing your own spiritual intelligence.

Cindy refers to her method as “spiritual weightlifting”–a process whereby we work to develop our “muscles” to shift away from thinking with our self-focused ego to behaving from our more loving and peaceful Higher Self. Her model is both faith-friendly and faith-neutral, and SQ21 offers a way for atheists, people of faith, and those who are “spiritual but not religious” to understand each other and discuss our universal concerns. These skills are especially crucial for those in positions of leadership, since they help us to make decisions on a higher level while in the midst of stress, complexity, and high rates of change. If you want more peace, wisdom and compassion in your life– SQ21 is the book for you.

Cindy Wigglesworth is the President and Founder of Deep Change, Inc., a company dedicated to helping individuals and organizations integrate and access their Deep Intelligence. She is the creator of the SQ21 Spiritual Intelligence self-assessment, the first competency-based spiritual intelligence assessment instrument. In addition to her many radio appearances, she has been a guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show and PBS television.

Cleve Backster – Primary Perception

Cleve Backster, Jr. is a best known for his experiments with biocommunication in plant and animal cells using a polygraph machine in the 1960s which led to his theory of “primary perception.” Backster began his career as an Interrogation Specialist with the CIA, and went on to become Chairman of the Research and Instrument Committee of the Academy for Scientific Interrogation. He is currently director of the Backster School of Lie Detection in San Diego, California. He was born in Lafayette, New Jersey.

His course of study changed in the 1960s, when he reported observing that a polygraph instrument attached to a plant leaf registered a change in electrical resistance when the plant was harmed or even threatened with harm. He argued that plants perceived human intentions, and as Backster began to investigate further, he also reported a finding that other human thoughts and emotions caused reactions in plants that could be recorded by a polygraph instrument. His work was in part inspired by the research of Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose,[3] who claimed to have discovered that playing certain kinds of music in the area where plants grew caused them to grow faster.

He termed the plants’ sensitivity to thoughts “primary perception,” and published his findings from the experiments in the International Journal of Parapsychology.[4] The article was met with wide criticism of his research methods. However Backster gained the interest of other researchers and expanded his experimental range to test for primary perceptions in other life forms such as yogurt, bacteria and human cells.

Since then Backster has presented his work at numerous scientific meetings including those of the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), founded by astronaut Edgar Mitchell, and the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, CA.
